Less is More!
We’ve been tracking the performance metrics of our new website and, as promised, we’d like to pass along some of our findings.
- Pages that were previously popular are still getting lots of traffic in the new iteration. Interestingly, while each of these pages has less text than it’s predecessor, visitors are actually spending more time on each page. This finding has validated for us one of the prime goals of our redesign - to create tighter, more focused content.
- Our simplified navigation (fewer drop-down menus/larger tabs) has been a success. We see this reflected in the increased number of pages viewed per visitor in the new version of the website. In other words, fewer options have led to visits to more pages.
Often the easiest advice to remember in life is the toughest to put into practice. We’ve always known that it’s hard to go wrong when you keep things simple. However, it took rethinking our website for us to truly see that “Less is More”!
